Firm Background:

Barter & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1982 as a Structural Engineering firm. The goal was, and still is today, to provide clients with economical solutions to their project needs. This work is to be performed with utmost consideration given to ethics, state of the art technical procedures, and the client’s best interests. Our business plan is to develop a clientele based upon service. We make every effort to insure that the client’s schedule and budget are met and the project documents are issued with minimal changes during either the bidding or the construction phase.

Over the years Barter and Associates has designed industrial facilities, specialized foundations and structures, hospital additions, office buildings, extended care facilities, schools, churches, museums, and federal offices. Our clientele consists of industry, government, specialty contractors, and major architectural firms in Mobile, New Orleans, Birmingham, and Montgomery. The firm only performs work for which it is qualified and limits the type of work accepted to structural engineering. This business principle has served the firm well and has aided in the cultivation of a client list that includes architects and industrial clients for whom the firm has worked for over 20 years.

Barter & Associates subscribes to the philosophy that engineering is an applied science which is evolving with time. The firm believes that through continuing education and participation in professional activities employees can grow to meet the challenges of today’s construction industry. Attendance at seminars is encouraged and continuing education funding is provided for employees. In addition, employees regularly attend professional association functions and have held both state and national offices with the structural engineering profession.

Barter & Associates is dedicated to the practice of providing the highest quality of structural engineering services for a reasonable fee. The firm prides itself in working for clients that make their selection of structural engineers based upon qualifications and the willingness to provide the best service possible.
